How to Fix those MG Midget Rattles!

UGH! How I despise irritating rattles!
I know, I know, why buy an old car if you hate rattly things? Especially a British Leyland! Mild insanity, that's what it is.

Last time, I revealed Margo the MG Midgets new interior which had been revamped....

THIS time I wanted to figure out where and why my 1275 engine bay was rattling, and realised it was around the heat shield area.

Seeing that there was a spring missing and the old springs that hook over the throttle body could do with replacing; I decided to tackle this irritating rattle!

Todays jobs included:

- Removing Air Intakes
- Scraping off Old gaskets on both carb, and filter surfaces
- Remove old springs, and replace with new springs
- Check for rattle
- If good, loose machined bracket from manifold to heat shield
- Check for rattle again
- Apply new gaskets, sealant, and re install filters
- Take MG Midget for a Ride, and adjusting steering wheel so it is straight
- Ensure rattle is improved

Hope you guys enjoy the video, next time it will be more thorough and specific!!!

Big thanks to Moss Europe for using their catalogue illustration for showing where the springs are!
