SBSM alum, Soumini's story speaks volumes to functional freeze and how many of us come to accept the abuse we experienced in childhood as "normal"... until we start to feel the effects of this stored trauma and the dysregulation it creates in our nervous system. But the good news is that healing IS possible, and it begins with learning. Or, as Soumini says:

“Because of SBSM, I've started a rescue mission… A rescue mission where I visualize going back to different parts of my childhood. I go back to the homes that I lived in, and I rescue the little girl that lived there. I bring them all back with me. I bring them back from situations… And I say, ‘I'm the adult now. I'm going to take care of you. There's going to be no more torture.’” #childhoodtrauma
