When it comes to 2019 superhero films with a female lead, the film Captain Marvel is the best of the bunch.

It was a groundbreaking film where finally, females, at least white ones, had someone to inspire them.

For far too long, the Marvel cinematic Universe, only provided female empowerment through African American females like Okoye, Nakhia, and Valkyrie.

But who was there to inspire white women and girls?

Maria hill? no way! She did not get enough screen time

Natasha romanoff the a russian! No thanks, I like my heroes american.

Scarlet witch wasn't much of an inspiration either. She went drunk over a robot as well as being, hello she is a god witch!

And of course there was the wasp, the exact opposite of inspiring. She played the sidekick to a convict who used her father's technology. Talk about being only one step above barefoot and pregnant.

So while it is great that Captain Marvel, was able to be an inspiration for the second most powerful demographic in western society, white women, she fell short of really being a heroic character that uplifted and inspired the masses.

I am jim huss and this Captain Marvel is not a hero.

This video is brought to you by Samuel L Jackson learning about different cultures cultures

When it comes to heroism, it is an all encompassing character trait. Look at Christopher Columbus, over 1 billion people currently live on a continent that he was the first major european to visit. A billion people, are living on some of the most industrial and advanced land on the planet because of him. Two world wars were stopped because of people from this continent, talk about a heroic man and discover. But his mass and enslavement of native peoples has completely negated his heroism.
A similar argument can be used against Captain marvel. We can't just say Captain Marvel is a hero because she is quote unquote heroic in a few instances while overlooking how truly vile she is in all other aspects of their life.

When it comes to Carol Danvers, she is just reckless.

She fights a skrull on a crowded train where innocent bystanders can get hurt.

She passes over a double yellow line line.

Let me repeat that. She passes over a double yellow line!

According to the national highway transportation authority, unsafe passing leads to 22,352 accidents a year.

And she doesn't even signal, come on girl! Set an example!
A study by the Society of Automotive Engineers shows that 2 million accidents a year are caused by not signaling.

On top of that she is a thief and steals an american made motorcycle from what is clearly a hardworking and upstanding member of the community that just wants people to smile.

According to the FBI, 773,139 automobiles were stolen in 2017 at an average cost of $7708. Captain marvel contributed to an annual problem costing 5,959,355,412

She also is a legitimate cheater and doesn't deny it.

A true hero, knows that you have to be better than your enemy or you become them. You should also be courteous and respectful to your allies, not torment them with exposure to dangerous animals.

According to stopbullying.org people who are perceived as different from their peers are often at risk for being bullied. Captain marvel truly shows that by picking on the green freak with messed up teeth.

But what really has me confused, is the hullabaloo of Captain Marvel being a feminist icon.

Lets do a quick rundown of the feminist undertones of this supposed feminist icon.

For starters, she substantiates the female stereotype of women being bad drivers, by literally crashing a plane.

She then goes on to literally physically a computer. Like every woman who has ever thrown her phone because they lost at candy crush, Carol Danvers literally attacked a computer.
According to the national center for women and information technology
Females make up 19% of students that take advanced placement tests for Computer science and only 18% of college graduates with a degree in computer science. A true role model in computer science would have used code and not violence to beat a computer.

And to top it all off, the emotional climax of the movie is a montage of her standing up after falling down. Hello, that is normal! Falling down in little league is not a sentence where the batter slowly withers away and dies.

No evidence is available to indicate that anyone has ever died from falling down at home plate in baseball.
