The majority of late-model vehicles use vacuum-assisted brake boosters to help take some of the legwork out of stopping the car. The vacuum brake booster is a fairly simple mechanism that hasn’t changed much over the years, and this system often will last the life of the vehicle.

But even the most reliable components on a vehicle occasionally go bad, and vacuum brake boosters are no exception.
