When Melbourne won the rights to host the Australian F1® Grand Prix, they needed a trophy, something that would stand as a symbol Australia, and pay tribute to the country's rich history in motorsport.

There are many iconic pieces of silverware in world sport. The Stanley Cup (NHL), the Venus Rosewater Dish (Wimbledon), the America's Cup (Sailing), FIFA World Cup Trophy and the Claret Jug (The Open Championship) among many others have become symbols throughout history, held by some of the most iconic and influential names in the history of their respective sports.

The Australian F1® Grand Prix trophy is no different. Lifted on Sunday afternoon at Albert Park by some of racing's greatest ever, with likes Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel and more recently Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen having ascended the top step at Albert Park to lift this iconic piece of silverware.

This is the story of Flynn's: the two brothers based in Kyneton, Victoria that take us behind the scenes and share the story of this iconic trophy's meaning, the secrets embedded within the trophy and the early designs that have seen the Australian F1® Grand Prix trophy quickly establish itself as one of the most sought afterpieces of silverware in Formula 1®.
