The Rev. Dr Norman Vincent Peale (1898-1993) was an American minister of religion, spiritual philosopher, best-selling author, publisher, broadcaster, lecturer, speaker and Presidential envoy.

A life-sized bronze statue of Dr Peale, sculpted by John M. Soderberg, was installed in the Fifth Avenue churchyard of Marble Collegiate Church in May 1998 to mark the 100th anniversary of Peale’s birth.
