Hiking in and just checking out coverage on the way in. I tried to keep up with a couple of runners early on and cooked myself. As it turns out, a 32 lb pack is a significant hindrance when you're trying to race. :)

This is part of an 8 video series on what it takes to maintain an off grid Helium Hotspot. I initially thought the Hotspot just needed a power cycle, but it turned out needing a total replacement, which took multiple trips to sort out.

Off grid hotspots are not easy or cheap to keep up and running, and for many folks this is way too much effort and cost.

For me, I’ve got sensors within the coverage area of this hotspot I want to maintain connectivity for, plus I love to be out in the mountains, plus I’m also responsible for maintaining the weather station on this pole for my local paragliding / hang gliding club.
