The Kia Stonic was Kia’s first attempt at a small compact SUV to rival the likes of the Nissan Juke, amongst others. Released in the UK back in 2018, it’s since received a facelift in 2021 aimed at bringing it more in line with its compact SUV rivals.

Every Stonic comes with a good level of standard kit meaning that even the entry level car doesn’t feel too Spartan in terms of equipment. Inside controls are located logically, clearly labelled and easy to operate, making the Stonic feel much easier to use than the touchscreen-led interiors you’ll find in other similar cars. Every Kia Stonic comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB radio, Apple Car play and Android Auto smartphone connectivity as well as Bluetooth. The Stonic isn’t a big car and doesen't have a big engine, so it won’t cost a fortune to run. There are two engine options, a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine with 98bhp and the same engine with 118bhp that gets mild hybrid assistance to improve performance without sacrificing too much economy. The official fuel economy is 51.4mpg – whether you have a manual or an automatic gearbox.
The Stonic comes with the same 7-year, 100,000 mile warranty cover as all the rest of Kia's cars. The car hasn’t had any recalls and Kia as a manufacturer is a pretty safe bet in terms of reliability.
So, the Kia Stonic gets a decent warranty, has a good hardwearing interior and a sturdy construction and theres no doubt about the kerb appeal looks – especially in sporty GT-Line trims with its two-tone roof. Definitely worth a test drive!
