It was held in August 1901 in Italy, but it may be one of the first car races in the world. It was originally supposed to start from Grosseto and run into the city of Livorno, but then it rained and the roads in Grosseto were impassable, so the start was moved to the city of Piombino. This international event is organized to commemorate this competition, where you can start with cars manufactured earlier than 1918.
The distance between Piombino and Livorno is more than 80 km, and the 120-year-old cars cover this distance without any problems.
The event lasts for three days, I made this video on the first day of registration, supplemented with original photos from 1901 and old videos to get closer to the atmosphere of the events 120 years ago.

At the event, not all cars had arrived for registration when I took the shots. Only a video recording was made of one car, this is the Isotta Fraschini Tipo Fenc Semi Race 1908. 4-cylinder 1320 ccm.
