This is the ninth session of an eighteen-lesson course for absolute beginners wishing to learn Arabic. In this lesson, you will gain further practice at reading and writing letters in their joined forms, working from pages 42 to 47 of the book. You will also cover pages 48 to 49 where you will be introduced to the concept of tanween (nunation). Tanween is the final ‘an’, ‘in’ or ‘un’ sound that sometimes appears at the end of Arabic nouns and adjectives. You will also be taught vocabulary concerning soft drinks and learn how to express a preference.

The course as a whole is based on the book 'Arabic from the Beginning: Part One' by Dr. Imran Hamza Alawiye, which is available from the publisher's website: www.gatewaytoarabic.com. The course teaches everything you need to know to read and write the Arabic script, as well as useful Arabic phrases.
