STAR WARS THEORY! Did they go TOO BIG, TOO SOON? Return of the Jedi had to deal with the burden of Jeopardy placed on it by the first two films!

In this episode of Quick Look, ‘STAR WARS THEORY! Did They Go TOO BIG, TOO SOON? | Part 3: Return Of The Jedi JUST Got Away With It!’, we look at how, in Return of the Jedi, the film had to address the stakes set by ‘A New Hope’ by trying to ’top’ the jeopardy caused by the Death Star.

We examine how this sequel dealt with the raised the stakes in character jeopardy, creating a cliffhanger climax from ‘Empire Strikes Back’ - in a sort of ‘part 2’ to the final story. And in doing so, found out what all following Star Wars films would also discover, that going bigger than the Death Star is no easy task!

This is part three of our three-part series looking at how the original three Star Wars films navigated the sequel conundrum and how they ‘just’ about managed to raise the stakes… and could provide an answer as to what went wrong with star wars sequels? And also maybe what went wrong with star wars prequels?
