On November 8, 2018, in the initial hours of the Camp Fire, dozens of CHP officers were deployed to assist in the evacuation of Paradise and surrounding areas. Although this was the deadliest wildfire in California history with 86 lives lost, thousands were successfully evacuated due to the actions of first responders.
