Gigafactory Texas on 30 July 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
Today, we watch a beautiful sunrise while flying along the west side of the main building and we see that it is going to be a very busy day! Plenty of construction to see around the main factory structure, the south and east sides this morning. Also, there are some green shrink-wrapped mystery deliveries on the ground floor of the General Assembly structure, near the large scaffolding loading platform in the central area.
Some people are saying they are Cyber Truck basic bodies, but I am not really sure about that as it could be anything from production line equipment, to tooling and forms, to possibly test panels and sections. I don't think we can say for sure ... Take a look at the video intro and during the video for some closeups and let me know what you think they are!
Finally, we speculate about where a Cyber Truck “test track” area might be located and take a look on the west side where hills and ponds were partially removed and yet work has come to a stop. This area might be a very nice off-roading demonstration area for future Cyber Trucks and possibly customer delivery experiences. As noted, this is pure speculation, but I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on this as well.

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- The central area steel structure has now grown to about 450 feet (137 meters) long by about 225 feet (68 meters) wide. It is possible they may need to leave some space for pump and cement trucks to get positioned to pour the floors before adding more to the structure, but we will have to watch and see.
- The “alleyway” steel assembly work between the paint shop and battery cell structures continues, with quick progress, growing the steel structure northward to fill out this area.
- The south end of the General Assembly structure steel assembly work is moving along at a quick pace, not closing in on the south beam across the entire width. On the east side ground floor of this structure, we see the green shrink-wrapped deliveries that seem to have some shapes reminiscent of the top of the Cyber Truck, but since they are covered, it is not possible to be sure what these are. On the west side, we see more paving and cement work around the loading dock and parking areas, and we see more progress on what looks to be a vehicle charging area.
- The battery cell structure is getting more exterior wall panels installed on the west side, now covering about 50% of this side of the structure. There are several kinds of openings, including some for what appears to be cargo loading, doors, and truck loading. On the roof, more of the cementitious spray coating is being applied in one area while insulation and weatherproof membranes are being applied in other areas. Inside, more interior walls, HVAC and many crates/shipping containers have been moved in on the ground floor.
- Windows are being installed on the east side of the Body-in-White structure while excavation work goes on right next to the structure, probably for underground utilities and final work ahead of paving this area.
- On the west, south and east sides of the main foundation, road work continues, especially on the south pond area where large segments appear to be almost ready for paving.
- We wrap up the flight by flying over the far east and northeast to see what changes have happened and to visit these less frequently seen areas.
