One of the main reasons corn intercropping has been unsuccessful in Western Canada is limited herbicide options. This forces farms to seed intercrops post herbicide application - limiting growth potential (sunlight & water). Forage soybeans are glyphosate tolerant to minimize these herbicide & management headaches.

Listen to Joseph Gardiner talk about the advantages this intercropping practice can bring to your farm:
- Regulate the soil temperature (protect the soil from hot summer temperatures)
- Provide high protein biomass for grazing after silage or corn harvest
- Provide residual nitrogen for next year’s crop
- Balance the C:N ratio of the soil (improved water infiltration & water holding capacity)
