Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. By 1961, two directions seemed to be going on in the world of Automotive Styling.....Chrysler, AMC, Studebaker, Checker and International Harvester were all going in a certain direction. GM and Ford were going in another direction GM and Ford won out the styling war.....only 5 years earlier, Chrysler was winning that battle. But tastes change. A 1961 Plymouth, Dodge or Imperial have very unusual styling, but so did the Studebaker Lark or the Ambassador by Rambler. The IH Travelall or Pickup Truck has very interesting styling. I don't think it's fair to call them ugly. They are different, people had different tastes. I'm constantly deleting comments about a car being ugly. Those comments aren't welcomed here. It's unfair to use your 2021 Eye Glasses and bash what people were thinking of and building in 1960. I'm sure the designers of the Plymouth had a vision or an idea or a concept. I personally like the car, always have, ever since I was a kid. I think the singers are "The J's and Jamie" and the voice over at the end is Pete Hanson.
