After lots of consideration, I was determined to create a new type of sliding truck tray. DIY truck trays as well as Commercial Truck Trays are nothing new but are commonly found using casters. Casters are expensive in large amounts. Working in a warehouse about 15 years ago, I remembered how well things rolled down the conveyors so I searched Craigslist for cheap building materials.

A future follow up video may include a locking mechanism as well as positive stop for the tray not to come all the way out. At the moment neither seem to be an issue. Also the frame presently floats and is not bolted down. With enough pressure the frame will tip about an inch but again.. not a huge concern as of this moment as the tray bottoms out on the tailgate if you push down on it when fully extended.
