“We do not want them to forget” - Leslie Kleinman, Holocaust survivor
27th January marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp – and Holocaust Memorial Day 2023.

Across the world, events are taking place to mark the important date as a global veil of remembrance to the six million murdered Jews, alongside many others under Nazi persecution - and in genocides that followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, Darfur and afar.

Each anniversary, Holocaust Memorial Day is led by themes. This year, the recognition has two themes: Ordinary People and Home and Belonging.
In their own words, we hear from several Holocaust survivors who recount their own experiences and the forever impact it had on their respective lives.
