Normally, the proceedings of Big Cherry's city council meetings are closed to the public, but Broadway is giving audiences a look at a particularly contentious session this spring. Well, rather, Tracy Letts is in his latest Broadway play The Minutes. Take a look at the video above for a peek at few onstage moments from The Minutes. Read reviews for the work, which opened April 17 at Studio 54, here.

Set in the fictional town of Big Cherry, The Minutes takes place in real time at city council meeting that gets a little heated when the newest council member starts asking questions.

The cast features Tony-winning playwright and actor Letts, Tony winners Blair Brown and Jessie Mueller, Tony nominees Ian Barford, K. Todd Freeman, and Austin Pendleton, plus Cliff Chamberlain, Danny McCarthy, Sally Murphy, Jeff Still, and Noah Reid in his Broadway debut. Anna D. Shapiro, who directed the play's premiere at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company, also helms the Broadway staging.

The production features scenic design by David Zinn, costume design by Ana Kuzmanić, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, sound design and original music by André Pluess, hair and wig design by Tom Watson, choreography by Ty Defoe, dramaturgy by Edward Sobel, and casting by Caparelliotis Casting.

Though it is being performed at the Roundabout-operated Studio 54, The Minutes is not a Roundabout Theatre Company production.
