At the end of the 20th century, it looked like the future belonged to Asia. Japanese electronics were second to none, as were their cars, and Korea wasn’t far behind. And one bright star was Daewoo. Founded in 1967, in just 30 years it was Korea’s second largest company. A meteoric rise then, but today its name has all but disappeared. Why did Daewoo decide to make cars, what’s its connection with General Motors and what became of it?
