Last night Kate’s documentary ‘Derek’s story’ aired, telling the events of the final six months of his life. Viewers saw an insight into his progress, both physically and mentally, as well as the hugely demanding daily care services he needed. Derek sadly passed on 3rd January 2024, but Kate is determined to help transform the social care system to support people in a similar position who are struggling to manage life as a carer and the financial burden it brings.
