Footage of Orcas preying on dolphin caught on the drone! Late in the afternoon on 6-29-19 during a Dana Wharf whale watching trip off the coast of San Clemente, CA. Our passengers on the Sum Fun with captain Brian Woolley had a front-row seat to this encounter. 3 ETP Orcas pursuing common dolphins, they had corralled a common dolphin and her baby, they separated the mom from the baby. The screams of our passengers say it all we were rooting for the baby to get away but the little guy is no match for the APEX predator! We warn you that this video is graphic may not be intended for children to watch. As always it looks like the Orcas are playing with the dolphins like a game of chase, but Orcas play to win!

The drone video was taken by Matt Larmand, also we want to thanks Oceanside Whale Watching for finding these Orcas in the first place!

Dana Wharf is the premier year-round whale watching company in Dana Point. Beginning in 1971 we are the pioneer of whale watching adventures in Orange County, California.
We interact with over 1000 whales during the Gray whale migration in the winter and view hundreds of 90 feet Blue whales in the summer. Sightings of Orca, Humpback, Sperm and Finback Whales are not uncommon.
In addition to whales, thousands of dolphins, sea lions, seafaring birds, and even sharks are found year-round in our waters, so we always have plenty of wildlife to see.
