More bhp/ton than a Bugatti Veyron for less than £10K?
Yes really!
In this exclusive new video to 7Spot we take a look at Ben Bonfield's two single-seat racing cars that he uses in hill climb events (a Jedi and an OMS).
Space frame chassis, bike engine and double wishbone suspension will be familiar to kit car owners, but this combination has a much more narrow focus.

Both of Ben’s 1000cc single-seat racing cars weigh around 300kg each and produce 200bhp – which is 667bhp/ton (compared to just 523bhp/ton for the Veyron) and can be bought for less than £10,000.
In fact at the time of writing one is for sale with a 600cc engine, needing a little work for just £3000!
If you thought single-seater cars were the reserve of the rich, think again!

Ben takes us through both of his cars – which in the age-old phrase are similar but different – giving an insight into what is under the skin of these purebred racers.
If your ambition is to race a car with wings & slicks, you should watch this video.

Last time we looked at his classic Mini crossbred with a BMW motorcycle engine – link to the video here – (   • Classic Mini with Twin Cam BMW Bike E...  ).
