We were amongst the first to get up close and personal with the all-new Honda HR-V compact SUV. This generation is hybrid only, being powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine and two electric motors. Total output is 129bhp and 253Nm of torque. This is more a 'self-charging' hybrid as opposed to a plug-in hybrid, however, the engine rarely drives the wheels directly.

The interior focuses on space with this car incorporating Honda's famed 'Magic Seats' in the rear. Front passenger get the use of a new 9-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is said to be up to 50% faster than before. A boot space figure has yet to be revealed, but using the 60:40 folding rear seats there's enough space for bulky things such as bikes.
