The surviving Avengers discover that the Vision, specifically his Mind Stone, can reverse the effects of the virus, exemplified by Scott's cured head being kept alive in a jar. However, they also find out that the Vision has been keeping a zombified Wanda Maximoff captive due to her resisting the cure and feeding other survivors to her, including pieces of T'Challa. Soon, she breaks free and begins fighting them.

Unwilling to live without her zombie bride, the Vision sacrifices himself and gives up the Mind Stone so the others can cure the world with it. Bucky encounters hungry Wanda, but she throws him through the sky. Banner stays behind and turns into the Hulk to battle Zombie Wanda and an oncoming zombie horde. In the hopes of broadcasting the Mind Stone's energy, the four survivors head to Wakanda.

However, Wakanda has been conquered by zombified Thanos, who is in possession of five of the six Infinity Stones, needing only the Mind Stone to complete the collection. It seems he still aims to use the Infinity Gauntlet, but it is unclear if his plans of wiping out half of all life will have changed.
