This is the eighth in a series of AQP ride along videos. This one was filmed in reference to the fatal crash of Monroe MacDonald in Texas. In that crash, the 85 year old MacDonald was maneuvering to keep Addison airport in sight at night and lost all speed awareness. I believe that he was looking down and to the left and never realized his excessive pitch up and low speed condition.

The emphasis of this video is to illustrate how much information you miss when you over prioritize on something that doesn't matter! Down low? Don't fly less than DMMS, don't bank more than 30 degrees angle of bank!

A DMMS marking on your airspeed indicator is free, and is a is a constant reminder to honor the correct pitch and power at all times. This video is a teaching aid in conjunction with AQP scenario #12, Loss of Speed Awareness.
