Rain and showers are coming this weekend for New Zealand but rainfall totals still won’t be enough to reverse the severely dry regions - but still, it’s good news for many going into the new month.

Stormiest weather will be on Monday and Tuesday and those in the north and east of both main islands will have the lowest rainfall totals, whilst central, inland and eastern areas will be windiest.

A cold change kicks in on Tuesday with snow on the ranges.
