Even though personal electric vehicle sharing programs are quite widespread in the USA, the options are usually limited to stand-up scooters in this part of the world. There is nothing wrong with riding scooters in the standing position, but this type of zero-emission vehicle requires some getting used to it. 

A scooter with seat is a much more beginner-friendly option and this type of two-wheelers is more commonly used in European and Asian countries, so we think that American riders should look into this kind of e-scooters.
Regardless of the location, we believe that there should be more seated scooters with battery-electric powertrains on the market (both in ride-sharing services and personally owned).
