Our solar system was born from a cloud of gas and dust. The largest part of this cosmic rubble heap clumped together to form the planets. What remained was cosmic rubble: comets, asteroids and meteoroids. Investigating it helps science to learn more and more about our origin, but it can also be dangerous to us.
