Timeline of Deterioration

00:00 1994 – Runs aground off Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. Breaks in half within the first few hours. Locals loot the ship for valuable items.

00:10 Late 1994/Early 1995 – Wreck starts to deteriorate. Stern badly damaged.

00:15 Late 1996/Early 1997 – The stern section collapses.

00:25 1998 – Damage to midsection starts to appear.

00:30 1999 – Small hole appears near the tip of the bow.

00:40 Late 2003/Early 2004 – Deterioration of bow section begins to accelerate.

00:45 Late 2005/Early 2006 – Wreck begins to list badly to port and collapses. Funnel falls off and superstructure breaks apart.

00:55 2006 – Bow continues to collapse and disintegrate.

01:00 2007 – Majority of the wreck is gone. Only small sections of the bow and a kingpost remain.

01:05 2008 – Kingpost and most of superstructure disappears.

01:10 Today – Almost nothing left above the surface. Small parts only visible at low tide.
