Listen as professor William P. Barnett and Stanford student Charlotte Kramer host a discussion with Dror Etzion, the Steven Grossman Endowed Chair in Sustainable Business at the University of Vermont, and Tarun Khanna, the Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor at Harvard University, to discuss the takeaways from an academic conference held at Stanford GSB on February 8th and 9th, 2024.

Humankind faces a number of daunting challenges in order to attain planetary environmental sustainability. Organizations of all forms, including private firms, government agencies, academic institutions, and civil society actors, will play a central role in bringing about the needed transformations.

Participants of this conference will discuss fundamental scholarship on organizations and their role in creating a sustainable future. This scholarship could also include research on knowledge and resources that organizations will need to meet the challenges posed by climate change. We invite paper submissions that draw from diverse academic disciplines and/or from interdisciplinary research teams.

The Stanford Initiative on Business and Environmental Sustainability Research Conference Series is hosted by Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.
