After an inland waterway vessel hit the Kunkenmühler Bridge on the Dortmund-Ems Canal in Germany and pushed the middle section of the bridge out of the anchorage, the salvage finally took place on May 21, 2020. The HEBO LIFT 5 floating crane was used, which can lift up to 160 tons. However, due to the limited radius of the crane, the two outer bridge parts first had to be supported with the help of two self-propelled vehicles and a pontoon and moved somewhat towards the center of the channel. According to the NOZ, each bridge part should weigh approximately 80 tons.
