Western Rail Link to Heathrow is a standalone scheme, based on a two-runway airport with a case independent of Heathrow's expansion. Backed by Government in 2012, the planned 6.5km rail link would create west-facing direct rail access from the Great Western Main Line to Heathrow Terminal 5.
