Ashley compares life to a hero's journey with a childhood of innocence (departure), followed by disillusionment from experiences (initiation), and finally, a return to a wiser but less innocent self. The internet exposes children to negativity but also offers endless learning. We can't recapture childhood innocence, but we can embrace a childlike wonder and creativity to see the world afresh. Meet Ashley Van Gool, a student from the Ambassador Bilingual Academy (Thailand). Ashley's passion for psychology and dance has driven her curiosity about human nature and perception. Ashley chose to explore the concept of innocence for her speech, drawing from her childhood experiences and conversations.
