Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is an oxidative therapy, and increases oxidation inside your body.

But wait...isn't oxidation bad?

No! Not all oxidation is bad.

Specifically, oxidation from normal cell respiration is a natural process, and your body is built to handle this type of oxidation.

The hyperbaric chamber stimulates this process, and that extra oxidation sets off major cell signaling in the body, which is largely responsible for many of the benefits we see with hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Not only is it okay that the hyperbaric chamber is oxidative, it's part of the process that stimulates the changes, healing and regeneration that we want from hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

In most cases we don't want to supplement patients with antioxidants before their HBOT sessions because that's going to dull a lot of those responses that we discuss here on our channel.
