We decided to bring the cameras along to show you exactly how the brand-new GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X does hauling it's GCWR of 15,000lbs, its maximum capacity. This Truck is equipped with the AT4x package, including the 6.2L V8 and that standard 3.23 axle. We quickly realized that the truck hits the 7100 GVWR 2 passengers, a full tank of gas, and the tongue weight of ~900lbs. We towed from northern to central Utah, up and down highway 6, which is claimed to be one of the most dangerous canyons to drive. How did the GMC Sierra 1500 AT4x do? Note: We are not intending to provide advice or recommend towing at or above the maximum rating of your vehicle. The weight you're towing/carrying depends on several factors, including but not limited to driving condition, load dispersement, cargo, fuel, etc... It's up to you to know your specific scenario and determine what is safe.
