VIDEO DESCRIPTION
Well, this is a big milestone for me, folks. It’s also going to be a hell of a learning experience. And so I figured, hey!…let’s learn together, shall we?

What is this big milestone, you ask? My first ever fine art photography solo exhibit, that’s what. Yes, fine art photography. Not that janky “okay art photography” everyone else is doing. And hey it only took me 23 years of pursuing photography to get it, but who’s to say that’s a long time? I mean…my inner critic does. But F that guy. He’s always a Debbie Downer. I’m just thrilled to be given this opportunity. This is going to something I look back on with fondness in my old age (“Ah, you remember my first solo exhibit? That was a lot of work, but I sure had fun doing it. Also, how do I restore my backup consciousness from the cloud? And what’s wrong with kids these days with their holograms and AI-generated music? Remember when everyone had jobs?).

So I’m going to try to soak in every moment of this process. The fun, the stressful moments, the anticipation, the fear…it’s all part of the journey, brother. I’m only going to have a first solo exhibit once in my life, so I better absorb every last bit of it.

The exhibit in question is titled “American Desert” and will be at the beautiful Casa Romantica Cultural Center in San Clemente, CA starting in September and going through December. I’ll be putting all sorts of analog photography images on display - all with a unifying “American Southwest” theme. So we’re talkin’ lots of 4x5 Polaroid peel apart film and 6x17 images of saguaros. Can ya dig it?

I’ll be posting videos in (somewhat) real time as I progress through this process, so keep an eye out for more coming soon.
