The National Theatre from1911 had been vacant since the mid-1970s, Was torn down as part of a development plan by Dan Gilbert's Bedrock real estate firm. The workers carefully dismantled the National Theatre's facade and put it in storage for future reuse in the planned Concert venue .
The facade will live on .
Under section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for “fair use” for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research.
