I have been using the Apple Vision Pro all day and I found four things that were better than I expected and one that disappointed me.

This is Apple's new VR headset, called the Apple Vision Pro.

Additional review notes:
So I’ve been using the Apple Vision Pro for about half a day now and I found four incredible uses cases that I did not expect until I tried it on, one use case that was better than I expected but still not quite perfect, and a few use cases that I thought would be better and I will never use

Now I have some interesting and unique videos planned for this in the coming week, so please subscribe if you haven’t already

Starting off with setup
Super easy to follow along. There is a tutorial (explain what dials and buttons do

Then you set up your persona:
Capturing persona is cool. The headset has loud external speakers and uses the front display to tell you what to do

The persona is uncanny and looks a bit off but tracks my face well and is pretty close

Then there is opticID, sort of like FaceID but with your eyes. Mine did not work when I tried to set it up

Then you are brough to your home screen. It is familiar, kind of like an apple watch or iphone
To control, you just look and pinch. It is so intuitive

Eye tracking is great. Definitely the easiest way to do this

You can also tap on numberoad that pops up. Not just punching
Keyboard on screen is awesome
Minor distortion on the top

So use case #1 that I did not expect to be as good as it is: reliving memories in 3D
Of course, you can view photos and videos and they are incredible
Panoramas surround you and look fantastic
Stereo video from iphone looks pretty good - has dissolved edges

THEN… 3d photos and videos captured with the Vision Pro are on the next level. It really feels like you are there
Birhday cake - I flinched because it felt like they were blowing on me

Use case #2
Watching sporting events from a field level - I saw some demo footage of this at a baseball game, a soccer game, an ice hockey game, and some others and this was unreal. Definitely the absolute best way to watch any sporting event. The 3D aspect is unreal

Use case #3
Watching concerts in 3d up front
The surround sound is incredible
Good sound quality
You can pair with the latest airpods pro for lossless audio

Use case #4 that I think will be a massive game changer - 3D movies and interactive media
I saw this on appleTV
Super immersive

Use case #5 that yielded mixed results - laptop usage
Eye fatigue is still very real
Minor distortion on the top

What didn’t go well
Motion sickness from moving shots
The headset is light-ish and comfortable, but after an hour, it starts to feel heavy and a bit less comfortable

There is a travel mode to stabilize visuela s for like a plane of something

Surroundings can be blocked but then if it moves it becomes visible
Good spatial understanding but not perfect. Floor shadows, butterfly

Laptop extension
Only one screen at a time
Can read text well
It is nice that I can actually see my keyboard well, unlike Meta Quest headsets
If you have a small macbook and are on a plane, this could be good
Center is crystal clear and great resolution. Peripherals are not so good, so you need to turn your head

I think I could actually work on this but I would need to change my style of window usage

One last note - when I take it off, I feel like my eyes don’t work for like 15 minutes. I feel like I am cross eyed and struggling to see stuff. Definitely some eye fatigue

Big uses:
Sports
Movies
Concerts
3d photos and video memories
Maybe laptop extension
