Hello everyone. Wrapping up our weekend we take a walk in the Leibert creek. This is located in Emmaus community park in Emmaus, Lehigh county PA. The creek flows under what was once the East Pennsylvania railroad. Built in 1857-1859, this railroad connected the two major railroad cities of Allentown and Reading PA. This road would be leased by the Philadelphia and Reading railroad in 1869 and would become the East Pennsylvania branch. Later Conrail would operate the line. Modern day it is the Norfolk Southern Reading line. The culvert itself is most likely part of the original build in 1858! Remarkable. Thank you for watching. 4/29/24
