An interview with Charlotte Crosswell: UK FinTech innovation in a global context

Why you should watch: Charlotte Crosswell is one of FinTech’s movers and shakers. A month or so ago, Charlotte stood down as CEO of Innovate Finance, a position she held for almost four years. In this wide-ranging interview, we talk about her own next steps, implementation of the Kalifa Review (which she co-authored while at Innovate Finance), the CMA/DMU approach to FinTech M&A, the need to improve domestic growth funding, the role for universities in start-ups’ innovation, the relationship with the EU vis-a-vis capital markets, as well as tapping into emerging markets’ dizzying FinTech growth. This is all about keeping the UK at the cutting edge of global FinTech innovation.

Moderators: Andrew Hilton (Director, CSFI) & Leighton Hughes (Tech lead, CSFI)

Charlotte Crosswell is MD of Exadin, an advisory firm in innovation, transformation and strategic chance. She serves on the Department for International Trade’s financial services trade advisory group. She is a NED at UK Finance and freemarketFX, she was the CEO of Innovate Finance (the leading industry body representing the UK FinTech sector) and also at Nasdaq/NLX. Among the other hats she has worn, she was a board director at LCH and CityUK, and head of international business development at the LSEG.
