Ra'id does the Korean martial art Tae Kwon Do to control his anger, instil a sense of discipline and make him feel at ease and calm. His dad does Jiu Jitsu and he inspired him to take up the sport. Ra'id loves anime TV shows and he wants to implement martial arts into a TV show of his own one day.

This film was created by a group of young filmmakers aged 13 - 19 during a project that took place over summer 2019 at Platform Youth Hub, Islington. Facilitated by professional filmmakers from Chocolate Films, participants were able to develop key camera & production skills whilst exploring the stories of their chosen Londoner

1000 LONDONERS

This film is part of 1000 Londoners, a ten-year digital project which aims to create a digital portrait of a city through 1000 of the people who identify themselves with it. The profile contains a 3 minute film that gives an insight into the life of the Londoner, as well as their personal photos of London and some answers to crucial questions about their views on London life. Over the course of the project we aim to reveal as many facets of the capital as possible, seeing city life from 1000 points of view.

TRANSCRIPT
- It allows you to become more disciplined. When I get home from school, I get angry sometimes, because I have anger issues. But when I'm in my gear, I feel calm and in control. My name is Ra'id and I do Tae Kwon Do. My favourite move is yaskick because it is extremely disruptive. It's a kick where you use your right leg, swing it upwards, and bring it straight down. Tae Kwan Do is Korean martial art that started 2000 years ago. The word Tae Kwon Do means "the way of the foot and hand" The reason why I chose Tae Kwon Do is because it's a way for me to learn how to fight, and a way for me to get fit. At first I felt very tired, but when I keep going to lessons every week, I start to get into the rhythm with everybody else. My dad does martial arts, and martial art he does is Jiu Jitsu. And he thought he wanted me to to martial arts, by doing Tae Kwon Do. I'm interested in television anime TV shows. And I'm really a fan of the action genre, and I'm really a fan of martial arts, I want to implement that into a TV show.
