when I first read Pablo Neruda’s “if you forget me,” I had a series of images appear in my head in regards to how I envisioned it to play out. granted, half of these visuals in my mind were impossible to film. but whatever was possible - I was able to capture. coffee, waves, the wind. symbolising the passage of time and how one gets through the burden of heartache, & eventually overcome it by embracing the water and looking forward to a brighter day. a new land.
