Part 1: The background to a new Outlander fan piece

I love painting trees! In this video, I'm using torn strips of painter's tape to create a mask for the trees. This is a loose watercolor and meant to be relaxed and not precise. You can experiment with any shapes and number of "trees" as well as the color you choose. I wanted to create a moonlit feel so I chose mostly dark blue/gray colors (Phthalo blue, Prussian blue, and Payne's gray).

Tools: Canson 140lb cold press watercolor paper (the paper must be watercolor paper!), round watercolor brushes (any brand is fine), watercolor paint, cup of water, paper towel or scrap of cloth, painter's tape.
