Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows in other places in the body, such as your ovaries and fallopian tubes. It may also grow elsewhere, such as on your bowel or bladder.

In this video, we explain how endometriosis is diagnosed, what you can expect at your first GP appointment, and what happens if you are referred to a gynaecologist for further help.

You can find more information about endometriosis on the NHS website by visiting https://nhs.uk/endometriosis

Special thanks to Dr Aziza Sesay, Dr Manou Kaur, Palfrey Health Centre and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their support in making this video.
