Viewing a house means different things to different people. A first-time homebuyer will see things differently than an experienced investor, and that same investor will see things differently than an agent. So if you're trying to buy or sell a house, what should you look for?

Anson Young, experienced agent and investor, has come up with some tips for viewing a house, segmented by the different areas throughout a property, to help you out!

When you first do a property walkthrough, you’ll notice some key features: the paint on the outside, the flooring of the inside, the windows, the key appliances like water heaters and furnaces, and the overall condition of the house. As an agent, you know that you can only sell at top dollar if a home fits certain criteria, and as an investor, you can only rent at top dollar if your rental has high-end features and amenities.

One thing neither an investor nor an agent wants is a code violation or an inspection to be triggered. This could waste time and money and could dwindle down your future profit or commission with added work thrown in the mix!
