The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT wasn't the very first Super-SUV: that was the 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9, or the Mercedes ML55 in 2000. But it has always been the world-beater. Whenever a company produces a fast SUV, Porsche has always managed to build one that goes even faster. The new Turbo GT, while not a "GT Car" in Porsche-speak, fills in a microniche for the customer who wants a very, very fast SUV - the fastest SUV Porsche can make - but without being hybrid. See, we loved the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid (see review below), but no one wants it. It doesn't sell. Here, you get a lightened, aggressively stanced Cayenne with some performance party tricks, and, let's call it like it is: the Urus engine. By taking that powertrain and putting it in a smaller, lighter SUV, Porsche has created a 5,000 lb truck that can run 7 minutes, 38 seconds around the Nordschliefe, which is what the Ferrari 458, Lexus LFA, and Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera were running 10 years ago.
