We all loved Jill Scott for her incredible performance on and off the pitch at the Women's Euros 2022 and for being crowned Queen of the Jungle in 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' and today Jill talks about her incredible 18 year career, after retiring from football last year.

In that time Jill went from being an unpaid football player in Sunderland, to a European Champion playing in front of record crowds at Wembley. Jill’s career saw her also play for Everton, Manchester City and Aston Villa, and with 161 England appearances, she is England’s second-most capped footballer, male OR female! She also scored three FA cup titles, was named FA International Player of the Year, AND was awarded an MBE.

In this episode, Jill Scott opens up being an ‘out footballer,’ how it used to ‘eat you up inside’ hiding her sexuality in interviews despite the fact she was accepted by her teammates and how she hopes that more players will feel comfortable to be open about their sexuality in the future. Jill also shares for the first time about how badly bullied she was for playing football at school with other parents shouting for their kids to kick her, and one boy even broking her elbow. Jill also calls for greater equality in jobs in the football industry and after having played under both female and male coaches, says gender has nothing to do with who should be hired as it is down to the individual and not the gender.
