Whether you’ve got a preferred sound in your head or are stumbling around trying to figure out what’s “good” and what isn’t, floor toms can be tricky beasts when we try to apply specific recipes. Often times we get hung up on recreating our favorite recorded sounds in an acoustic environment and struggle to produce a tone that projects and response across the dynamic range. Today we’ll go step by step through the process of remedying the issues of a common floor tom setup.
