Cut off from the world for nearly 60 years due to a US-imposed economic embargo, Cuba has few cars in working order. If the roads in the city are relatively in good condition, the situation is very different in the countryside. New cars are almost non-existent there and spare parts are extremely difficult to find. Cubans have thus become the kings of ingenuity to repair their mythical cars that date mostly from the 50s. These beautiful Americans, imported before Fidel Castro came to power, are like Cubans, a fascinating mechanical mixture .
