People often ask me where they can find a beach with "clear" water. I'm never sure exactly how clear they need it to be. So here's an example of the water clarity on Pass-a-Grille Beach, which is at the southern end of St. Pete Beach, Florida. This is as clear as it gets. It is not always this clear. We need several days of fairly calm conditions for the water to get like this. Usually it is somewhat less clear than this. Gulf water on the beaches further south (below Tampa Bay) have the potential of getting much clearer than this.
